(Market Call Minute.) Lithium is all of a sudden the “hot” metal because of plug-in cars, which will use a tremendous amount of lithium for their batteries. (Remember what happened to uranium in 2007!)

Lithium market is horribly overblown and will get more so. Long-term demand looks strong because of batteries but long-term supply is equally strong. If you are willing to speculate without worrying about fundamentals, the lithium story probably has a long ways to go.

Most lithium stories in Canada are far and few between. Western Lithium (WLC-X) and Canada Lithium (CLQ-X) are pure plays. Both are higher risk exploration stories that still need to be funded. Lithium has a very rosy outlook, whether for car batteries, electronic devices, etc. He is positive on lithium. Worth a small amount of your portfolio.
