(Market Call Minute.) They fly over oil/gas pipelines to check for leaks. Business is improving. Still not profitable. Signing some interesting contracts.

TOP PICK

Has developed a proprietary technology to fly over gas and oil pipelines to detect leaks. There is 500,000 km of pipe that has to be surveyed. They currently use dogs to sniff out leaks. Now is a good time to get in, now that we know the technology works. They have pulled in some big contracts.

COMMENT

Used to own this. Very interesting. They basically do testing for pipeline leaks from the air, which is better than existing methods. Good technology and it works. The trick for them is getting companies to hire them. Thinks they will be okay. Got some contracts, not big. Likes the management team. You’ll have to be patient on this one. This is not the time to be buying these speculative ones.

PAST TOP PICK

(Top Pick Mar 4/14, Down 44.00%) He sold it for a small profit when it became apparent that they would not be able to raise enough capital. You have to follow these things. Technically they are very good, but were not successful in raising money when they needed to.

WAIT

Very small. Based in his home town. It is taking a long time for them to get traction. But companies are not in that much of a hurry to detect gas leaks because gas prices are so low. The raw methane is very nasty for global warming. They need to sign meaty contracts before he will get excited.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick March 4/14. Down 74%.) A fantastic, unique proprietary technology, where they can detect gas leaks from helicopters. Have been contracting a lot of pipeline companies and gas companies. They couldn’t generate enough free cash flow to keep going and need to raise money to build another one of their machines. This is why he sold his holdings. Long-term he thinks it is a pretty good company with fantastic upside.
