These are a bunch of pawnshops in US, Mexico and Latin America. Their basic currency is gold jewelry. If gold happens to go higher, then their share price and earnings will follow along. Given that the banking system in Mexico and Latin America is not great, this is a good way for them to grow their branches. A very good entry point.
(A Top Pick Aug 25/16. Down 4.18%.) Fund stores through the US and Mexico through Cash America and First Cash Financial. They’ve also started building some pawnshops in Colombia, as well as looking at Chili and Peru. Because Mexico does not have great banking services, pawnshops actually do quite well. This has pretty much been tracking the price of gold. Rather than tracking the gold producers, their balance sheet has been a whole lot better. Dividend has been rising on an escalating scale in double digits, and they just continue to build out their stores. The response has been good because they are in areas where banking has not been great.
These are pawnshops in Mexico and the US. They are more correlated to the price of gold then the GLD ETF has been. They just merged with Cash America and are expanding throughout Mexico, Latin and south America. A lot of upside in terms of geographic growth. Because of the free cash flow, they have been using a lot of their cash to build new stores. Have just introduced a dividend for the first time. Dividend yield of 0.97%.
