COMMENT

Market. He thinks economic indicators look strong still. Small cap holdings do tend to sell off harder during downturns. The recent Canadian budget announcement did not have any surprises in their opinion. Going forward, the “Sell in May” trend may have already begun – he expects another 6 weeks of volatility. From there it will depend on economics and earnings.

PARTIAL BUY

What is your long term outlook on this? He thinks over the next two years and longer, it looks strong. They own it currently, and sees the ownership as fragmented. The demand for storage continues to increase and it is becoming more difficult to build these facilities. There is long term potential here.

HOLD

He holds this company and thinks this medical marijuana producer is still a good hold. They are awaiting a sales license he says and once they have that the inventory will be able to be sold. This will bring news on a quarterly basis and put it on investor’s radars.

HOLD

He says this is a company they just participated in a financing with and they do have a small holding. He says they need final licensing before they can draw down their backlog of sales – he expects this in the second-half of the year. As this defence technology gets adopted, he thinks this will make the company a take-out target by a big player.

PARTIAL BUY

He thinks this company has very good prospects. The stock price indicates the market likes what they have done with the drill bit. He thinks as they continue to put the pieces in place the stock price will go higher and will become a potential target for a take-out. It has the potential to grow without the commodity price rally, he says. IF he was to buy into it, he would buy into a third now and scale in in the months ahead.

WATCH

He does not hold this now, but it does rank highly due to its dividend. He thinks their business continues to ramp up going forward. On a total return and income perspective, it is good value. Yield 3.6%. (Analysts’ price target is $30 )

WATCH

He believes this has been very volatile due to an overhang and the potential need for more financing. It is stabilizing now and they have received an investment from the Thompson family. He thinks they should begin to receive approval soon with sales later this year. They do not own it presently, although they have held it in the past.

WATCH

Is this a buy over the next 1-2 years? He thinks the buy in by Aurora was interesting. Their existing business is going through transformation and they are working at trying to improve on or sell assets – especially in Alberta. He is on the fringe of wanting to own it.

WATCH

He says they are always watching this one to buy into it. He thinks management is patient and has made great returns on smaller acquisitions. If you have long term patience, this company has a good track record at making value for investors.

WEAK BUY

He has never invested in it. When the company was raising funds, it was doing so at sizable discounts, which caused some concern. He does not yet understand how this technology will play out, so they are sitting on the sidelines. He is not sure this company could be a long term sustainable crypto-miner. He would only trade this on a tight-stop.

BUY

He believes this company continues to do an amazing job at consolidating convenience store operations. He believes they still have lots of acquisition opportunities. On a five year time horizon, this is a great one to tuck away. (Analysts’ price target is $77 )

WATCH

He says this company is in the microwave extraction business. The company has developed technology to allow more throughput for the extraction of oil from cannabis. They are interested and he watches it to make an initial investment shortly.

BUY ON WEAKNESS

He says this company is right in the best demographic area, selling mobility aids to homeowners. The one knock is that it is generally viewed as expensive. He does not own it, but would buy it on a pull-back.

COMMENT

This company has been active with potential acquisitions, which they have not been rewarded for, he thinks. It has one of the first cannabis cultivation plants near Las Vegas. He likes the recent acquisition, which will help with security logistics of cannabis inventory. This could be a service offered to other companies.

WATCH

He says they do not own it as the company is attempting to build a brand new market for canola streaming. They have had some lumpy earnings quarters. He continues to watch it, however.
