Market: Governments around the world are trying to get more positive action. Concerned about Germany saying they will give time for Greece to work things out. Has no banks, no big oil companies. Cash raising since June. Banks are down 18% and he missed most of that. The quarter we are in he thinks won't be that good.
BUY
Still a little bit of an overhang on this stock from the keystone question. A great entry point right here. Thinks Obama will give it the rubber stamp.
BUY
Likes it. It’s a larger macro issue on whether et orders will be there but people around the world are building out their transportation infrastructure.
WAIT
Has been an entry point for 3 years. A terrific company, but he would wait now for that space to pick up. He prefers Crescent Point for the dividend. Don’t pull the trigger on SU yet.
WEAK BUY
Made up of out of the money options and bring in a premium. Down about 16% but a yield of 10%. Protects bank holdings. Not a bad entry point right now, but only take a little position.
HOLD
Continue to hold. Well managed company and don’t worry about holding it and without a stop loss.
BUY
A lot of the treats never really transpired. Down 45% from high, 20% this year. Pretty decent entry point right here. Use a stop loss.
HOLD
It’s an unpopular thing to say you are not in the banks. He is concerned about what will come out in November. None of the bond desk are making any money. He owns legacy positions.
BUY
Roundup has been revealed to not be as effective in some root worm crops. It is the leader in genetically modified seeds. Science behind it is well regarded in industry. Good entry point.
BUY
Favourite silver stock, loosely correlated to silver price.
COMMENT
GOLD: even at these levels he thinks it is going a lot higher. Some firms are only just raising their gold estimates. He thinks we are lagging the story. This is the gold miner’s season. There has to be a catch up between bullion and miners.
WAIT
One of Canada’s greatest companies. He got stopped out of it and made a loss. He is going to wait 30 days so he can keep the tax loss but is going to re-enter. Doesn’t see the catalyst immediately. Hold on a little bit.
BUY
Picked it up again. The sell off is mostly market related. Adding for aggressive portfolios.
DON'T BUY
In and out 6 times with 4 losses. He is stepping back. Apple is eating its lunch. He doesn’t think it has much more upside. You could buy a one-year call option because you never know if someone will come along and buy it.
TOP PICK
A little expensive. Earnings they just posted were some of the strongest we saw on the TSX by a long shot. They lower guidance every single time they release earnings so people shouldn’t be surprised. Over-expansion is a long way away. They are picking up sales in Australia and New Zealand.
