Wimax: Radio system for providing high bandwidth connection. Very young and only a couple of companies are trying to put it out. Doesn’t have a very bright future. Several similar systems have been attempted back to 1999 and all went bankrupt.
Big debt. Only a short period to play this one. Intel (INTC-Q) is about a year or more ahead of them in product and about to come out with a new product that will hit full scale in the 4th quarter. You could trade, but get out if it hits $8.
You could probably do well with this. Have both the iPhone and the Blackberry. Won’t see a lot of competition in the next couple of quarters. Be careful more than 2 quarters out as the reality of the iPhone may disappoint.
Makes PCMCI cards, basically 3G cards for laptops that people use when they sign up for any of the carriers that 3G services. A really limited market as most people don’t care enough to spend the extra. Look for a good exit point.

3.2% dividend and buying back 5% of their stock a year. A lot of hype on the iPhone will tend to push the stock down but this is really no threat. Throwing off tons of cash, $11 billion last year. In a good position and will get stronger.
Builds the radio modules for cell phones. Diversified supplying Nokia, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Apple and RIM. Good for those that want a cell phone stock but doesn’t want to bet on one particular company. Good management.
Trading below cash now. Missed estimates and guidance 3 times last year and changed direction in their business model last quarter. Got pummelled. Out of favour and trading at a very low level. Good revenue and decent cash flow and just cut investment in a money losing area so margins are going to pick up.
