Don Vialoux iShares S&P Europe 350 E.T.F. IEV-N COMMENT Apr 14, 2015

Is this a good time to buy a European ETF and should it be hedged? Historically European equity markets have almost identical seasonality to North American equity markets. Normally from around the end of October right through to the 1st week in May. The way to play this is through iShares S&P Europe 350 ETF (IEV-N). This is 350 of the largest companies in Europe. A really good way of playing the market.

TOP PICK

This is the equivalent of a European S&P 500. It tracks the S&P Europe 350 index. Actually, the UK is the biggest part of this. England is doing quite well and he thinks it will continue to lead Europe.

TOP PICK

Historically it does well from February until May, about a 10% gain. Fiscal stimulus will aid this trend. It will happen in Europe. When this happens IEV-N will do very well.

PAST TOP PICK

(Top Pick Jan 14/14, Down 6.36%) Swapped into XEU-T, which the currency is helping it.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Jan 19/15. Up 8.09%.) This should have been higher than 8%, but it was because of the strength of the US$.

BUY

Top 350 European companies. It is starting to do better than the US market.
