Brent Cook Evolving Gold Corp. EVG-CN COMMENT Mar 11, 2010

There is a discovery in Nevada that is potentially really significant. Hit the right rocks and the right alterations in a very strong system. Wedging down and trying to expand it. Will be an expensive project.

(A Top Pick Sept 25/09. Down 14%.) This was risky as he was betting on them to find extensions to some high-grade mineralisation that they hit in Wyoming. Have not been able to follow it up but they do have a large low-grade system. Big strong system that he likes. Not a Buy.
BUY
Low grade, high tonnage area but recent drill results showed between 1.2 and 1.4 g, which is exceptional as Cripple Creek is showing less than 1 g per ton. Some people still mistake this as a high-grade play.
TOP PICK
2 world-class projects. Rattlesnake is a multimillion-ounce project. Just announced a major discovery in Nevada. Grossly undervalued.
HOLD
Goldcorp (G-T) is the biggest shareholder in recently did a private placement but the stock did absolutely nothing.
WATCH
Good project, but complicated. The geology is such that there are a number of magmatic bodies where some of them are mineralized and some aren’t. Difficult to tie them together enough to make a body that is economic. Also have a fantastic looking project in Carla, Nevada that he thinks will turn out to be a discovery but there’s a back-in by Newmont (NMC-T) that has to be factored in.
BUY
Gold project in Wyoming and Nevada. Run by a very competent geologist. Wyoming is an interesting project in that it is a big gold system with a number of intrusives into it. The Carlin project is a good one also. Frustration has been the time it has taken to prove these up. At these prices it is all right.
HOLD
Has a couple of great deposits. Rattlesnake Hills has emerged as a little more complicated deposit than was originally thought. Great big long intersections of high-grade but have barren zones in between. Question is the mine going to the economical and profitable? Also has the Carlin project which is very promising. Real opportunity for investors at these prices.
SELL
He is disappointed at the progress the company has made, given the promise it seems to have. They have not been able to put together the Wyoming project. There is a problem with the geology. The flow of management certainly has not helped. He exited all his positions.
DON'T BUY

Your opinion on the high-grade intercepts at their Arch target in the Carlin trend in Nevada and the recent spinoff of the Rattlesnake deposit in Wyoming? Have had some very good holes in the Carlin trend and are on a Carlin type system. Problem is that these are deep holes which cost up to $500,000 each to get down there. If you’re successful then you have the problem of drilling a bunch more holes and there is no money.
