COMMENT
We're not overvalued, but are stretched. Conviction in this market has slipped a little entering autumn. The recovery is performing better than expected from the start of the year. He doesn't see a massive pullback coming. The Delta and inflation are two forces investors must watch. September will likely show meaningful gains in employment that will effect stocks through the rest of this year. Inflation fears of last spring have come off; investors are gradually agreeing with the Fed that inflation will be transitory. But what fiscal packages will arise in Canada and the U.S? The Fed won't do anything drastically and won't make major moves until next year, probably.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
There's upside, though valuations are stretched. Technology going forward will be strong for semi makers like AMD. Growth outlook is positive. But wait for a slightly pullback in AMD.
BUY
CNQ vs. Suncor The energy sector looks good. Today's news says that we could see oil prices topping $100 in 2022, but he thinks $80 is a more realistic target. Growing demand for oil should continue into 2022. CNQ could crack the summer's resistance level. Stick with the large-cap oil names. CNQ vs. Suncor? Own both. Anything could happen to smaller-cap names in the face of a fourth wave of Covid. Long-term, though, oil names will be less and less attractive.
BUY
It's done reasonable well. Similar sentiment with AMD. Semis will do well, but will face stiff competition from Taiwan Semiconductor. Growth lies ahead under a new CEO.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
There's decent support at $170. The stock has come off in recent months. Wait for a Sept/Oct pullback to $160. SWK offers good value. Last September, the S&P was down 10%, so we are overdue for a meaningful pullback, if we get one. A 5-10% pullback is a buying opportunity.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
This stock has exploded recently, way above bullish targets. The price is too high, driven by a lot of quick money flooding in. Let it cool off before buying. But there's always been a lot of volatility in uranium.
BUY
A defensive play. It's trading off its highs. A good choice for a portfolio because it adds defense. Valuations are better now. Tim Horton's re-launching the Roll Up To Win campaign is smart.
BUY
No, it isn't heading down. It adapts well to macro conditions, namely e-cars. Magna is ready for EVs. He likes this name. It will do well for the next five years. The valuation is slightly too high for him, but he's watching it. He also likes and owns Tesla within the car space, and likes GM.
PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick May 25/21, Up 40%) He still adds to this on weakness. There'll be a massive build in infrastructure so BAM will benefit.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick May 25/21, Up 107%) They came off a depressed environment, but held good momentum entering the summer. Canada will enjoy good growth into 2022. Solid. In March 2020, you did not want to sell banks and had to look forward to the recover. If you stayed with the banks including BMO, it paid off very well.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick May 25/21, Up 39%) He took profits a month and a half ago. The stock got overvalued. Then, defensives didn't look like they would hold onto, but going forward they and other defensive stocks look more attractive.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
It's too pricey and the stock will struggle to hold amazing summer gains. Buy at $8-9. It's a decent company, though. Too much optimism in this name now. The easy money has been made in copper.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
It's still a fine dividend play, paying over 6%. It's a safe play in your portfolio. Doesn't matter if the Canadian economy sees massive growth next year. It's pricey now, so he'll add to it now.
BUY
KSU today announced it will accept CP's bid over CN. The rollercoaster ride at KSU continues. CP has pulled back in valuation. He likes CP. It's a good opportunity to pick up CP now as he expects integration with KSU. It now trades at a discount.
BUY
It looks good it will get FDA approval for a Covid vaccine for children. Any good news here will help PFE. He's owned this for a while. The current pullback is a buying opportunity.
