Markets. There are all kinds of problems in the system, debt is a big one. It is hard to know where to go from here, but it is certainly not cheap like it was 5-6 years ago. He has been doing a lot of selling, taking profits, because it is partially dictated by the markets. If the market is going up quite a bit, his stocks hit initial Sell targets.

Where should I invest if Trump is elected? Can’t really say which stocks would be most affected, but there are certain areas such as China, Mexico and healthcare stocks, which would probably be impacted negatively. Thinks some of the gold buying now is because of him, so if he is not elected, golds may come down to some degree.

COMMENT

This company does agricultural GPS and steering systems. Merged with Novariant, which is going fairly well. They are dealing with some write offs. Whenever 2 companies of about the same size merge, there are always write-downs and it always takes awhile for them to gain traction. Thinks this could go up 4 or 5 times.

COMMENT

Very junior, although it has been around for a long time. It is basically a lot of hype and hope. They are doing some work in Australia, and virtually have no money. Nothing found to date has been feasible, that they can push it forward in a big way. He avoids companies like this like the plague. Doesn’t like companies that have no revenue.

SELL

Primarily an infrastructure company, and do cables, engineering. They do about $2.4 billion in sales. Insider owners have been huge sellers. BV is about $16. If he owned this, he would be looking to Sell.

HOLD

Healthcare staffing. The company has doubled over the past year, and he is not too sure about the upside from here. If Trump gets in, that is going to hurt healthcare companies. He wouldn’t be looking to Buy, but if you own he would consider continuing to hold. Doesn’t know the financials well enough to see if it might be worthwhile Selling.

COMMENT

Rumours of new management trying to find a buyer? He knows nothing about the rumours. If a company has rumours of a takeover, he will give it a point. Based on this rumour alone, he would not be looking to buy this. It still has to have good financial statements, a good reason to exist, good marketing, good revenues.

COMMENT

This has been doing much better lately, so it isn’t of interest to him anymore, and is not on his watch list.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Aug 4/15. Down 0.45%.) He still likes this, and thinks it can double. A major problem was that the payout ratio was over 80% this past quarter, and they have to get that down. At the same time, revenues went up smartly, same-store sales went up about 4%, and the elderly population is growing. They’ve been building facilities and doing some takeovers. Thinks the dividend is sustainable. Yield of almost 6%.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Aug 4/15. Up 55.28%.) This was taken out by Lowes (LOW-N). He still holds some of their preferreds.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Aug 4/15. Up 4.93%.) A small bank in Alabama with 20 branches. They have about 6 million shares outstanding. This past quarter their earnings were about $300,000. His target price is over $21.

COMMENT

This was one of his major mistakes. The stock fell under $1, but has recovered after they sold off some of their assets. Their debt load was monstrous, but they were paying it down. He likes management which has an excellent skill set. It wouldn’t surprise him to see oil prices at $60-$70 or more before the end of 2017. If this happened, this company’s bottom line would look much, much better.

COMMENT

He has faith in management. Their debt load was not all that heavy when he bought this, and it is not all that heavy now. Revenues for drillers are regularly going down by 50%. A very high risk company. It has tremendous upside if it can recover, but oil/gas prices have to go up.

DON'T BUY

He used to own this before the Internet became more established. Management is great, but they have been dealt a very, very bad hand. The CEO is leaving, so there is change at the top. They made some investments in the Internet which did not pan out very well. A dangerous stock. The dividend has been cut twice now.

COMMENT

Marijuana stocks? A lot of the marijuana companies are going to disappear, so it is not going to go up every day and keep on getting higher and higher. You also have to watch that there are a lot of people who just want to fleece you in this field. This fertilizer company is actually diversifying into the area, and have come out with an earth product that is especially made for pot growers.
