The CI High Interest Savings ETF (CSAV-T) is considered a good place to park money with low fees. It is similar to a money market fund, although the underlying securities may be of slightly higher quality. The main risk is the potential for interest rates to retreat, as it is very responsive to current interest rates. However, the ETF is generally seen as pretty safe due to the high and stable credit ratings of the major Canadian banks it invests in. With a reasonable management expense ratio (MER) of 0.14%, it is viewed as a relatively secure investment option in the current market.

Good place to park your money, and fees are low.

Not much different from a money market fund, except the quality of the underlying securities might be a bit higher in a MM fund.

Risks?

Very popular. Exposure to money markets of the various banks in Canada. Risk of rates retreating is always a risk, as these will be very responsive to whatever the current rate of interest is. Other than that, doesn't see significant risk.

There's always the credit risk of the underlying banks that are providing the yield that these ETFs are buying. Pretty safe, as credit ratings of major Canadian banks are pretty high and seem stable. Reasonable MER at 0.14%.

TOP PICK
It holds the high-interest savings accounts from the major banks, but you don't get the insurance from those HISA's. However, they yield around 4.7%. No expense ratio.
