(A Top Pick Aug 4/17, Up 5%) The period of seasonal strength is from now until the first week in January. It has a nice upward trend, broke to new highs recently, and the technicals are great. Farmers want to reduce taxes by buying fertilizer after a good year like this year.
Historically, this has done well from September through to around the 1st of the year. It just had a nice break out recently. It is establishing an upward trend, so the technicals are positive. Seasonally, this continues through until January.
We have seen this sector not only outperform the market but established an upward trend in the last few weeks. It is getting very close to a very important resistance level. Technically it looks very interesting. On a seasonal basis, fertilizer stocks are very strong between now and the middle to the end of September. Technicals are starting to come together.
