He's looking to add international exposure. With this you get Japan and other markets. There's potentially more spending over there and trade relationships are changing. This ETF layers low volatility with a high dividend.
Its benchmark is the MSCI EAFE index, which is fairly well tracked. Last year it exceeded that index by about 8.5%. Historically, it's done very well.
He's looking to add as a tactical complement to the rest of his portfolio. Hasn't added yet. Not necessarily waiting for a price point, but still sharpening his pencil and doing his homework.
