The iShares Equal Weight Bank & Lifeco ETF (CEW-T) has recently garnered attention from experts who are weighing its performance against that of the ZEB ETF. Currently, there are indicators that CEW-T has outperformed ZEB by a few basis points, largely due to the slightly better return provided by insurance companies compared to banks. This has opened discussion among analysts regarding the potential of switching investments from ZEB to CEW-T. While opinions differ, the sentiment towards CEW-T is generally positive, suggesting that it is a viable option for investors looking to capitalize on the current performance trend. Overall, while it may not be a revolutionary trade, the suggestion to consider CEW-T over ZEB reflects a cautious optimism about its future performance.

BUY
Low trading volume. It comes down to trading costs. If big enough then go for direct stocks or if you are holding for a long time. ZEB-T is only the 6 main banks here in Canada. CEW hold 5 more. If you old the TSX-60 then you may be doubling up on some without knowing it.
COMMENT
Equal Weight Bank & Lifeco ETF. Doesn't like to hold life insurance companies right now.
BUY
The 6 larger banks. He would look at it if it is optionable.
COMMENT
Prefers iShares Cdn Financials ETF (XFM-T) to this one as it is a little more diversified. This one is more of an equal weight product so it has 10 stocks whereas the ishares has more names and is not equal weighted.
BUY
ETF that includes 6 banks and 4 lifecos.
COMMENT
Equal weighted bank and lifecos. You could also look at the iUnits S&P Financial Index (XFN-T). They're going to give you a very similar exposure. If you like financials this is a good way to play them. Preferred shares might be a better way to pay the banks in the short-term.
BUY
Gives exposure to the 6 large banks and the 4 lifecos on an equal weighted basis. (His company issues this ETF.)
