COMMENT

Gold. The disconnect between gold and gold stocks this year will resolve in the equities' favour. Why? Expecations of the gold industry are so low, they can only be exceeded. Forthcoming quarters should surprise investors to the upside.

STRONG BUY

Stock continues to outperform time and time again. The chairman, whom he knows and admires, is the biggest shareholder and a superb manager.

BUY

Once owned it. The new CEO (a successful woman with a good track record) replaced the former CEO who was burned out. An essential stock to own in the diamond space. He may rebuy it.

COMMENT

Location of their deposit is remote though politically secure. Not impressed with their feasibility study (low cash flow relative to capex), and is extremely leveraged to higher gold prices. Perhaps investors who want a company to own Canadian assets may consider buying this.

DON'T BUY

Concerned about technologies he doesn't understand and about owning second-tier projects. Good management, but he's unenthusiastic about this stock.

BUY

Must own this if you're in the urnanium space. Deposit is in an extremely remote part of the Athabasca basin. It's an enormous deposit and it's highly likely it will be developed. Be patient. Believes the price of uranium will rise with Chinese and maybe increased Japanese demand.

BUY

They made a spectacular discovery underneath an existing mine in Australia, likened to a jewel box. They were already delivering good operating results in Canada and Australia. He was a founding shareholder.

BUY

If you're patient, this is worth owning. Quality CEO and has strong financial backing in association with Lundin Mining. But you must endure a lot of volatility.

BUY

He's a founding shareholder. Are you comfortable owning operations in Congo with worsening political and social conditions? This is the best cobalt company in the world.

BUY

Spectacular management. He owns a lot of this stock. A Canadian success story in gold, though unknown here and better known in California for some reason. He's happy shareholder.

COMMENT

He's learning as much as he can about this stock. He's nervous about little markets with great, big technogical promise. This could be a good market performer this year. Perhaps own this for the long-term, but knuckle down and learn what this company does with aluminum alloy technology.

COMMENT

It has a lot of experience in Subdury and Canadian Shield. There's no catalyst here to take this higher, but the company is well-run.

TOP PICK

Superb team. He's a founding shareholder. Generates $45 million a year in EBIT. Has great royalty income. Their allocation of capital sets them apart from other mining companies. Active in Canada and worldwide in many commodities. (Analysts’ price target is $16.42)

TOP PICK

Not for the faint of hear. A tier-one platinum and palladium discovery in South Africa; Zinc deposits and a massive copper discovery both in Congo. So, three tier-one deposits. What could go wrong? Well, South Africa is not a great country and Congo is a horrible country (political instability). (Analysts’ price target is $6.67)

TOP PICK

In the same business as Altius, but much smaller. Does a lot of exploration around the world. Generates about $5 million yearly in royalty income. This could a good year for them because they have an asset in Siberia that hasn't been valued at all and he suspects they will sell it to Russian interests to EMX's current market cap.
