He’s not really excited about energy, and gets a feeling we are just being manipulated. He likes big cap energy in the US. This closed at $13.29, and his model price is $17.30, a 30% upside. It’s one Canadian stock that actually has a distribution that is actually lower than its income. Thinks it goes higher, but there is so much opportunity in the US, that it’s hard for him to recommend this.
His model price is right on where it is currently trading. It closed at $54.20, and his model prices $55.10. Big revisions are coming in, especially on the financials. We are seeing higher bond yields, which translates into higher earnings, plus we are coming out of a financial repression and finally getting interest rates up. He thinks financials go materially higher.
He wouldn't depend on the dividend. They are only earning $1, if they are lucky. Advertising revenues are going down. Getting hit on all sides including by Netflix. Thinks the dividend will get cut. There is no growth. If they cut the dividend in half, you are still earning 6%, and he thinks the market is anticipating that. He wouldn't buy this here.
Earnings are coming out on Thursday of next week. It closed at $30.66, and his model price is $32.16. He can see this racing up to $32.48. Thinks there is going to be a major dividend increase. He would be very disappointed if they don't at least double their dividend. Next year they are going to earn $2.35.
Market. We are coming out of 10 years of financial repression and low interest rates. The two-year treasury actually went over 2% today, the first time since September 2008. Capitalism has been on its back literally for over 10 years. As interest rates move up, that is showing that capitalism is coming back. The market is recognizing that. The last time he was on the show, his fair value for the S&P 500 was around $3100. Now we are getting revisions and a jump up in earnings that we are going to start to see starting next week. Now his fair value for the S&P 500 is over $3200. We are on the verge of a parabolic move.
