Tech leads rebound
Markets on both sides of the border Thursday strongly rebounded in one of the strongest sessions of the month, recovering some losses of previous days. Tech led the rally with the Nasdaq jumping 2.79%, followed by the S&P up 1.85% and the Dow 1.11%.
Among the major movers were Apple up 3.15%, Tesla 7.55%, Ford adding nearly 5%, Disney at 3.59% and Meta popping 4.46%. The U.S. 10-year-yield was basically flat at 3.88% while Bitcoin inched by 0.3 % to $16,600.
The TSX advanced 1.14% even though WTI declined 0.5% to $78.50. All sectors were positive except staples. Real estate, tech, financials and energy surged. Soaring were Lightspeed by 12.22%, Shopify at 7.43%, Bank of Nova Scotia 1.8% and Air Canada by 4.84%. However TC Energy closed -1.4% as the most-traded stock.
