New York and Toronto rip higher
American markets extended their winning streak to six days while the TSX returned to 23,000 on Thursday’s rally. The S&P jumped 1.61%, the Nasdaq 2.34% and the Dow 1.39%. The 10-year yield stayed right below 4% while Nvidia was the most-active name again, up 4.05%, Other key movers: Paramount Global 7.14%, Super Micro Computer 8.59%, Albemarle 8.63% and Ulta Beauty which soared 11.17% after Warren Buffett announced a new stake in it. Meanwhile, Bitcoin sank 3% to US$59,600.
In Canada, the TSX rallied 1.2% with widespread buying. Enbridge saw the most action as it sank 2.32%, but CNQ rose 1.84%, Celestica 7.34%, Algoma Steel 6.38% and First Quantum Minerals 7.77%. WTI added US$1 to touch US$78 as gold gained US$7 to US$2,455.
