Mild gains and losses
Tuesday saw little direction in markets with the S&P and Nasdaq climbing by 0.15% and the Dow barely moving, while the TSX surrendered 0.33%, largely from weakness in energy.
Once more, Nvidia saw the most action, this time adding 1.5% as the investing world awaits its earnings late Wednesday. Other major movers: Tesla -1.59%, Walgreens -9.39%, Paramount Global -6.93% and ResMed 6.97%. Bitcoin sank 1.3% to fall below US$63,000. The U.S. 10-year yield held around 3.837%.
Bay Street digested bank earnings which were very mixed. BMO reported a loss and slid 6.45% as BNS beat and rallied 2.47%. Meanwhile, CNQ declined 1.57%, H&R REIT rallied 2.45% as real estate continues to gain traction amid rising interest rates, and MDA gained 4.53%. Gold gave back US$6 to US$2,524 as WTI sank 2.25% to US$75.70 a barrel.
