Would this be a good purchase for corporate bond exposure? Yes. He has long been an advocate of 1 to 10 year ladders. Prefers the longer ones like this as the yield spread between 5 year and 10 year in a normal yield curve is quite substantial.

The easy money is gone. Not a high yield bond fund anyway. A lot is below triple 'B'. Only sees 5% return in the next 12 months.
