The number of people over 65 is effectively going to double within the next 20-25 years. If so there is going to be a lot more demand for seniors housing. The concern is that there is a bit of an increase in supply in anticipation of the aging population, which has had a negative impact on the fundamentals. The US seniors housing business tends to be a lot more regulated than the Canadian. He prefers companies like Chartwell (CSH.UN-T) and thinks the supply fundamentals are more favourable in Canada.
