HOLD
Got overvalued, but came back a long way. He likes it because it is in Red Lake. Have a nice spread of properties. Good management.
COMMENT
A very early stage grassroots exploration company. Large market cap, so even if they were to make a major discovery he is not interested.
DON'T BUY
Has been management challenged. New management coming in. A little rich at this price. Would prefer between $.75 and $1.
BUY
A hell of a buy. It's going to split up 3 ways and there’s going to be a slug of assets. Copper play in the Congo, which is under priced, Red Lake operations and another operation in Newfoundland. The three packages will be worth more than the whole right now.
DON'T BUY
Stock has always been a laggard even with the increase in gold.
TOP PICK
The company is going to be split up. They have 39% of a Congolese play, Africo, and he doesn't think the value is being reflected when you look at the various pieces. Extraordinary cheap. The Africo holding is worth more than the current price.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Jan 10/06. Up 37%.) Have a big piece of Africo in the Congo which will be getting spun out in the near future. The Africo is worth more than the Rubicon shares.
WATCH
When it was down to the 70 cents area it offered some value. They are going through a spinoff, but hasn't looked at it recently. It's not something he would run out and sell. If it was under a dollar he would look at it again.
BUY
The asset value is being driven largely by their minority interest holdings in the Africo company. This is a copper project. Share price could double. They are going to break the company apart into three divisions which would include the copper assets, The Red Lake assets and the Newfoundland assets.
TOP PICK
It has a very interesting, undervalued play in the Congo which will be coming public in the not too distant future. Also have good Assets in the Red Lake district, Nevada and to a lesser extent in Newfoundland. Feels it is undervalued and it will surface. A safe stock at this price.
BUY
Has a high profile and initially did real well, ran into some difficulties like most juniors but has maintained and refocused itself on an African project while at the same time trying to joint venture a lot of its other projects. Has reached a level where there should be little or no downside risk. One of the better resource companies.
BUY
It's been caught up ike many of the juniors in the last year and there's been very little buying. This one is a very good situation 1) likes their exploration potential in the Red Lake district and 2) they've gotten involved in a Congolese venture which has a very larfge potential ore body. Very undervalued stock.
BUY
Seemed to be changing its direction in the last few months. Used to like because of its interests in Newfoundland, but now seem to be concentrating on copper in the Congo which is not the best of countries. Twice in the last 3/4 years, the stock has reached the $0.70 level and then had a strong rally to $1.80/1.90.
STRONG BUY
Loves the stock here. Probably the hidden asset they have here is significant opwnership of a company called Affrico which has an enormous coipper prospect. Still likes the McFinlay (?) project. A great buy under $1.
DON'T BUY
Trying to recreate itself. Haven't delivered as much as expected. Have made a move into central Africa. Rumours are that they'll sell their African assets which is a bad move, and the market has reflected this.
