Richard OrrellFranklin Cdn Ultra Short Term Bond Fund ETFFHIS.TOBUYJan 29, 2026
Alternative to money market funds?
Short-term corporates. NAV has stayed fairly stable, and it gives you returns in the 3.2-3.3% range. As long as you have a fairly positive outlook on Canada and block out all the noise of trade relationships and so on. Fairly safe way to move from government bonds (the "beach") into corporate bonds (the "ocean").
Steady NAV and creates a distribution. This is better than a 1-year GCI which locks your money. This is safe. It's like a money market fund and charges only 17 basis points.
