A " show me" story. Have good products and great distribution, but it's a matter of will the market attribute valuation multiple in line with its peers.
Not a bad company but Zellers has trouble because of Wal-Mart. A significant real estate portfolio which is probably twice what the stock is trading at now.
(Past top pick July 7/04. No change.) The fastest-growing oil/gas in production, operating costs or cash flow on the continent. Organic growth. Unhedged.
(Past top pick July 7/04. Down 54%.) Got rid of their position when it violated their 15% stop loss rule. Have bought it back at $10 which is 8 X earnings.
A wonderful company to own. There is lots of talk about the company getting taken out. A well-run, clean company. Amazing exposure to the booming oil/gas sector.
