Markets fade, but tech flat
The Nasdaq gained only 51 points to start the week as the overall market showed some weakness, perhaps from profit-taking. Regardless, the S&P closed on Monday at -0.33% and the Dow -0.86%.
Nvidia traded the most hands as it rallied 3.18% to a new high. However Tesla closed -1.09% and Super Micro Computers 1.47%. Homebuilders Lennar finished -4.37% and DR Horton -4.27%. The U.S. 10-year yield edged up to 4.186% as Bitcoin sank 2% to UA$67,580.
In Toronto, the TSX closed -0.43% as all but energy lagged, led by real estate, health care and financials. Most active were TD up 0.77%, Magna -3.56% and TC Energy -1.34%. Elsewhere NexGen Energy closed at -4.35% and Denison Mines -3.98%. Gold slipped US$2.50 to US$2,718 though WTI gained 2% to US$70.55.
