TSX bounces back
The TSX rebounded after a sluggish start to the week. On Wednesday, it jumped 1.5% or neary 500 points, helped by strong gains in tech, materials and energy. Eight sectors rallied. Major movers included Shopfiy up 7.6%, Colliers 6.06%, Bombardier 5.89%, CNQ 3.09% and iA Financial -11.0%. Also helping were commodities: silver jumped more than 5% to US$77.15, gold added US$105 to US$4,983 while WTI increased US$3 to US$65.35.
Wall Street also posted gains: the S&P up 0.6%, the Nasdaq 0.78% and the Dow 0.3%. Key names included MGM Resorts up 8.52%, CBRE 7.63%, AppLovin 7.44%, Nvidia up 1.6% and Palo Alto Network which slid another 6.82% The U.S. 10-year yield edged up 4.085% though Bitcoin slipped 2% to US$66,300.
