A dividend stock. He's not surprised that it's been struggling in this interest rate environment. If you've been collecting their dividends, you've done well, but he prefers companies that reinvest their cash. This is a good choice if you want to collect a dividend in the long run and see 9% compounded growth.

A gold royalty play (also in silver, oil/gas). He sold them around $100 on a purely technical basis. In a recession, hold cash, bonds and precious metals. Until then, there are better places to invest your money.

Valuation is bothersome and the owner is erratic. They have trouble bringing product to market and they are burning through capital. He likes the car and e-cars, but the company is quite overvalued.

One of the few great Canadian retail stocks. There's support below current levels. When a quality stock is down 10-20%, then buy more. Buy if you can't do that, then maybe you shouldn't be owning it in the first place.

They dominate the luxury coach market with contracts in most major North American cities. He used to own them. Sold them because their ROE was in the high-teens, and wasn't good enough. It's not a bad company at all. A conservative growth play--there'll always be demand for buses.

(Past Top Pick Sept.18, 2017, Up39%) They will consolidate for a while. They've come off lately, but have performed well this year. Their challenge is that as they acquire software companies to grow, so they have to either buy bigger or more companies to maintain their pace of growth.
