Wall Street edges up, Tesla beats

With the TSX closed for the holidays and the NYSE closing early ahead of the fourth of July, American markets edged up on Monday in predictably quiet trading. The S&P gradually climbed 0.12% higher, the Nasdaq 0.21% and the Dow 0.03%. Financials and industrials were particularly strong.
Major movers included Tesla, jumping 6.43%, after announcing record e-car deliveries in Q2 that beat expectations. Also up were Bank of America by 1.81%, Keycorp 3.9%, Comerica at 3.88% and Expedia 3.06%. Losing ground was Stryker at -2.09%. The U.S. 10-year yield inched up to 3.858% while Bitcoin added 1.4% to nearly $31,000.
Crude oil was mixed with WTI slipping 0.5% to $70.25 though WCS rallied 1.7% to $59.30. The TSX will reopen Tuesday for regular trading.
