US-Iran war extends slide

The Mideast war continued to hang over the market on Thursday. The TSX sank another 0.98%, the S&P fell 0.56%, the Nasdaq down 0.26% and the Dow tumbled 1.61%. Silver dipped 1.8% to US$81.95, gold lost US$64 to US$5,075 while WTI jumped another 5.8% to US$79.

Only tech and one other sector gained in Toronto while materials and healthcare suffered heavy losses. Major movers in Toronto: Methanex 7.08%, Strathmore 5.68%, First Quantum Minerals -8.36%, Ero Copper -8.96% and Capstone Copper -9.65%. In New York: The Trade Desk 18.36%, 13.44%, Corning -6.97%, Southwest Airlines -6.89% and Moderna -6.87%. Bitcoin sank 2.9% to US$71,220.
