TSX rebounds, Wall Street choppy
A day after Monday’s sell-off, the TSX rose 0.36% to nearly 21,000 as WTI crude added 1% to $73.50 a barrel. All sectors except tech rallied, led by consumer staples and industrials.
Key movers were Manulife up 1.4%, Tilray 6.45%, Lithium Americas 5.79%, Precision Drilling 5.26% and International Petroleum at -5.5%.
Across the border, markets see-sawed throughout the session as the S&P closed Tuesday up 0.06%, the Nasdaq -0.16% and the Dow 0.18%. Influential names were Tesla up 1.85%, Nvidia -1.64% and AMD -3.97%. Also, Charter Communications closed -4.55% and GE Healthcare jumped 10.91%. The U.S. 10-year retreated to 4.092% and Bitcoin advanced 1% to $43,000.
