TSX climbs, Wall Street’s losing week
The TSX finished Friday up 0.43% to end in positive territory for the week. All but energy and another sector rose, led by real estate and healthcare. Major movers: Mullen Group 7.2%, Thomson Reuters 5.24%, Celestica -8.67%, Denison Mines -5.53% and Hammond Power Solutions -5.52%. Materials climbed: silver up 0.85% to US$58 and gold added US$3 to US$4,053. WTI though sank 2.45% to US$89.90.
The U.S. indices were mixed for the day and down for the week. The S&P was flat on Friday but the Nasdaq slipped 0.69% and the Dow gained 0.41%. For the week, the S&P sank 0.6%, the Nasdaq tumbled over 2% and the Dow fell 0.4% Key names: Apple 3.53%, Intel -7.89%, Sandisk -10.79%, Coherent -9.84% and Lumentum -8.47%. The U.S. 10-year held at 4.683%
