Stocks drift to end record week

Friday’s session saw lackluster movement in New York and Toronto after hitting record highs several times this week. The S&P was flat, the Nasdaq gave back 10 points while the Dow declined 0.32%. For the week, the Dow was flat, the S&P climbed 0.6% while the Nasdaq rose 1.5%.
Major movers for the day: Invesco soared 15.28%, Tesla rose 3.21%, Molina Healthcare tanked 10.41%, Elevance Health slid 8.38% and Netflix tumbled 5.1% on soft guidance. The U.S. 10-year yield slipped to 4.42% while Bitcoin sank US$2,200 to US$117,270.
In Toronto, the TSX closed -0.27% for the day, but rallied 1.1% over the week. Only three sectors gained as healthcare, industrials and discretionary suffered the deepest losses. Key names: Whitecap Resources 2.06%, Air Canada -2.42%, Canadian Pacific Kansas City -3.57%, Endeavour Silver -3.52% and Magna -2.92%. Gold added US$11to US$3,350 while WTI declined 0.27% to US$67.35
