Oil and TSX surge
Thursday saw crude oil’s rally continue as WTI broke $90 a barrel by rising 2.3%. This helped lift the TSX by 1.42% as all sectors rallied, led by real estate, consumer staples and industrials.
Energy names were among the biggest movers, including TC Energy up 2.53%, Enbridge by 2.65% and Ballard Power jumping 7.78%. Meanwhile, financials also surged as TD rallied 1.42% and Manulife added 1.84%.
Wall Street enjoyed gains as well. The S&P advanced 0.84% to return to 4,500, the Nasdaq 0.81%, and the Dow 0.96%. Major movers included the heavily traded Tesla, up 1.75%, AT&T at 3.01%, Warner Bros. Discovery 2.8%, Norwegian Cruise Lines 5.69% and Mosaic up 4.44%. The U.S. 10-year yield ticked held around 4.288% as Bitcoin rose 1.6% to $26,600.
