Dow, TSX, Bitcoin climb

Monday saw the TSX rally 0.57% to remain above 21,000. Discretionary, energy and materials led the drive, while tech and industrials lagged.

Notable names were Canada Goose flying 8.21%, Baytex 3.35%, Shopify -1.82%, Lithium Americas 6.88% and Aritzia -4.38%. WTI saw a modest rise of 0.2% to $77 per barrel.

The picture was more mixed on Wall Street as the S&P was flat, shedding five points, the Nasdaq slipped 0.3% and the Dow climbed 0.33% to make a new high at 38,797. Major movers included VF Corp. soaring about 14%, Tesla -2.81%, Motorola Solutions -3.26%, ServiceNow -3.15% and Diamondback Energy jumping 9.38%. The U.S. 10-year yield held around 4.18%, but Bitcoin leapt 3.65% to $50,100.
