TSX climbs, Wall Street mixed

The TSX ended the shortened trading week on a positive note, up 0.36% on Thursday while topping 5% over the week. Apart from materials, all sectors rose, led by energy, healthcare and telcos.
Major movers: CNQ 2.07%, Cenovus 3.65%, Whitecap Resources 2.38%. Bausch Health 13.3% and Tilray -6.06% after announcing a reverse stock split. WTI crude jumped nearly 3% to US$64.30 while gold sank US$19 to US$3,323.
However, Wall Street was mixed with the S&P gaining only 0.13%, the Nasdaq shedding that much and the Dow sliding 1.33%. For the week, the S&P gained 0.28%, but the Nasdaq fell 0.62% and the Dow declined 1.14%. Thursday’s notable names: Eli Lilly 14.3%, Nvidia -2.87%, Apple 1.39%, Dollar Tree 8.1% and UnitedHealth -22.38% after cutting its full-year forecast. The U.S. 10-year rose to 4.324%. Bitcoin advanced US$700 to US$84,980.
