TSX rallies on U.S. trade news

Wall Street was closed for Memorial Day, but that didn’t stop Bay Street from gaining 0.75% on an across-the-board rally. Tech, discretionary and real estate led all sectors higher. Helping sentiment was Trump postponing till July 9 tariffs on the E.U., which he had just announced.
Key names on the TSX included Whitecap Resources and Brookfield Asset Management, each up 2.29%, Aritzia 4.09%, ATS soaring 20.27%, but Ivanhoe Mines sinking 16.19% as the most-active name. WTI remained around US$61.50 while gold declined US$13 to US$3,343. Bitcoin advanced 1.65% to US$109,475.
