Stocks fade, silver spikes
Stocks slipped from all-time highs on Tuesday while silver continued to climb to new levels. The S&P closed -0.19%, the Nasdaq -0.1%, the Dow -0.8% and the TSX -0.03%. Silver jumped 2% higher to US$86.80 though gold gave back US$13 to US$4,584.
Energy was among four sectors that gained in Toronto while telcos and staples led the laggards. Key movers: CNQ 2.63%, Cenovus 5.93%, B2Gold -2.3%, Quebecor -3.74% and Kinaxis -3.69%. In New York, Major movers included Moderna soaring 17.02%, Intel 7.33%, AMD 6.39%, Salesforce -7.07% and Super Micro Computer -5.05%.
Bitcoin spiked US$3,440 to US$94,485. The U.S. 10-year yield held at 4.177%.
