S&P enters bull market
The week ended differently on Wall and Bay streets. The TSX shed 0.77% for the week including 0.25% on Friday as most sectors were in the red, namely staples and industrials.
Tech was a rare gainer as Shopify rallied 3.42%. Elsewhere, Onex advanced 4.7% while Saputo plunged 11.17% and Tilray sank 4.91%. WTI declined 1.35 to trade above $70.
The ongoing surge in AI stocks helped lift American indices. Nasdaq rose 0.16% both on Friday and for the week as Adobe popped 3.41% on upgrades to reach new 52-week highs, Tesla rose 4.06% and AMD added 3.2%. However, Dish Network sank 11.84%. The S&P rose 0.11% to enter a bull market after scaling 20% since last October’s lows. The Dow rose 0.13% Friday and 0.31% for the week. The U.S. 10-year yield was 3.743% while Bitcoin held steady around $26,500. All eyes are on the Fed next week.
