Mixed week on Wall Street while Bay Street shines
The American indices struggled to regain ground on Friday after the steep sell-off earlier in the week, and ended both Friday and the week mixed. The S&P slipped 0.05% on Friday and gained about that much for the week. The Nasdaq climbed 0.13% during the session, but sank 0.45% over a turbulent week when AI stocks fell out of favour over concerns of high valuations. The winner in all this lay in Canada after the TSX posted a 0.24% gain on Friday and 1.38% over a week that saw the Canadian index achieve a record close.
