Minerals lift TSX, Wall Street mixed

Materials as well as healthcare, industrials and five other sectors raised the TSX by 0.91% or over 300 points Tuesday. Silver rallied 1.6% and gold advanced US$14 to US$,358 as ERO Copper rose 7.76% and Eldorado Gold jumped 6.26%. Elsewhere on Bay Street, Curaleaf soared 11.29%, Rogers sank 3.02% as telcos were the weakest sector and Hammond Power Solutions advanced 7.87%. WTI extended losses from Monday, down 1.25% to US$94.60.

The picture was mixed in New York: The Nasdaq 0.47%, the Dow -0.36% and the S&P flat. Also flat was the U.S. 10-year yield, hovering right below 5%. Most active was Intel, up 1.71%, GoDaddy -6.23%, Royal Caribbean -6.14%, and Monolithic Power 8.06%.
