TSX climbs, Wall Street fades

The TSX continued to notch gains, up 0.71% to US$33,258 as seven sectors rallied. Industrials, materials and telcos led the way while staples were the weakest. Major movers: Shopify 7.41%, ATS 4.48%, B2Gold 3.12%, Celestica -6.65% and Novagold 4.28%. Gains were made despite silver slipping 3% to US$80.80, gold declining US$28 to US$5,030 and WTI falling 0.33% to US$64.15.

Wall Street fared less well with the Dow barely gaining, the S&P closing -0.33% and the Nasdaq -0.59%. Major movers: Intel -6.29%, Palantir -2.38%, S&P Global -9.71%, Western Digital -8.19% and Datadog 13.74%. The U.S. 10-year yield slipped to 4.147% while Bitcoin surrendered US$1,800 to US$68,880 to continue its slump.
