Oracle and gold lift markets to record highs

Oracle reported and delivered an aggressive forecast, rocketing shares by 35.95% on Wednesday. Its performance lifted the S&P to a record close after rising 0.3% as well as the Nasdaq, which inched up six points. In contrast, the Dow lipped 0.48%. Other big movers: Nvidia 3.85%, Broadcom 9.77%, Apple -3.23% and Amazon -3.32%. The U.S. 10-year yield continued to lose ground, now at 4.047%, while Bitcoin bounced 2% higher to US$113,750.
Gold advanced US$14 to a record US$3,640 which lifted Iamgold by 9.09% and Equinox 8.2%. The TSX rallied 115 points or 0.4% to another record high of 29,178. Strong performances from materials and energy more than offset weakness in seven other sectors. WTI climbed 1.85% to US$63.80. Meanwhile, Cenovus jumped 4.92%, Lightspeed slid 3.69% and MDA Space retreated by 3.67%.
