Netflix and tech lead rally
Though trading was more mixed on Bay Street, the major U.S. indices saw convincing gains, led by tech. The Nasdaq returned to 20,000 after rising 1.28%.
It was helped by a blow-out quarter from Netflix which soared 9.69%. Meanwhile, Nvidia popped 4.43%, Moderna 7.27%, Seagate 6.84% and Procter & Gamble -4.97%. The U.S. 10-year yield barely budged around 4.6% while Bitcoin sank 2.75% to US$103.900.
Industrials and tech led the TSX 0.11% higher, while utilities lagged the most. Major movers: Denison Mines 3.56%, Cameco 5.58%, Celestica 4.68%, Capstone Copper -6.78% and Innergex Renewables -4.6%. Gold climbed US$12 higher to US$2,757 while WTI gave back 0.55% to US$75.45 a barrel.
