TSX inches up, Wall Street closed

With the American markets closed for their Thanksgiving, the TSX advanced 0.3% in light trading. Most sectors were positive, except for mild declines in consumer staples and utilities. Materials and real estate led the gainers.

Making moves were Corus Entertainment, jumping 5.73%, Allied Properties REIT by 2.91%, Northwest Healthcare REIT up 2.65%, Cronos at 2.43% and Lightspeed advancing 2.38%. However, Stelco sank 8.21%. Also not faring well was crude oil. Though WTI was flat at $78, WCS slumped 6% to $50.75.
