Stocks slip from highs

Markets retreated from consecutive sessions of record highs. On Tuesday, the S&P closed -0.55%, the Nasdaq -0.95%, the Dow -0.19% and the TSX -0.42%. While the U.S. 10-year yield hovered around 4.11%, gold added US$17 to US$3,763, WTI jumped 2.25% to US$63.70, and Bitcoin slipped 0.85% to US$111,910.
Sectors looked mixed on the TSX, but only energy saw significant gains while industrials and especially tech sold off hard. Major movers: Energy Fuels 7.06%, B2gold 3.65%, Barrick -2.33%, Atkins Realis -8.61% and Finning International -6.11%. On Wall Street, Nvidia declined 2.82%, Amazon fell 3.04% and Vistra plunged 6.28% while Halliburton rallied 7.34% and Kenvue recovered 1.59% following Trump’s lies linking Tylenol with autism.
