2015-03-27 COMMENT Darren Sissons

He likes sin stocks and particularly likes tobacco. They give you dividend increases of substantial order. He particularly likes this which is effectively a Commonwealth story with the emerging markets. You don’t have much exposure with the US, and as a result, the risk of litigation is much lower. Good story and the dividend is attractive and grows slowly over time. Buy this on the dips, and you will be pretty happy.

2014-12-04 BUY Norman Levine

British American Tobacco.  Only held by his wife (non-smoker).  Favorite tobacco company.  Likes the global exposure and the growth possibilities.  Would not be surprised to see them someday increase their exposure in the US.

The E-cigarette market has affected the stocks.  Little volume growth from emerging markets, but they keep rewarding shareholders.  Good company.

2012-07-09 PAST TOP PICK Srikanth Iyer (A Top Pick Aug 24/11. Up 19.19%.) The only thing that did well last year was tobacco and cheese. A little bit high on the multiples right now, so don't chase it. Still likes. Buy on weakness.

2012-02-02 DON'T BUY Charles Lannon Very large tobacco company. Very popular because it has a growing business in emerging markets. He has never been comfortable with litigation risks that tobacco companies face. Also many governments will be putting through austerity programs and excise taxes on this industry will be going up. Starting to see price competition. 3.84% dividend.
