Soured on uranium when the price from $21 to $29 due to the Uranium Participation Corporation cornering the market. Short term he's bearish on uranium, but bullish long term. JNR is in partnership with International Uranium (IUC-T) which made a discovery in the Athbaskan area. The expensive work lies ahead.

(A top pick March 2/05. Up 54%.)The Quebec Eleonore findings looks like a potentially major discovery. It's high grade at surface consistant. If everything goes wrong the stock may drop by 50%, but the upside could be a doubling of the share price. Not cheap.

The deposit in Mexico seems to have been cut off by the drilling that is known so far. Relatively low grades have been coming in. Would want to see some new discoveries made.

Owns the Pebble deposit in Alaska which is one of the largest copper/gold deposits in the world. There is no infrastructure in the area, so the capital needed to build this project will be significant. The main reason he doesn't own is that he's bearish on the US economy and thus the global economy and thus base metals such as copper.

One of the best run mining companies, but he is bearish on the economy. If you are looking for a mining stock per se, he is positive on this company, but he is not interested in mining stocks.

Have to store uranium after it is mined and, unlike gold, a tricky and costly product to store.

(A top pick March 2/05. Down 14%.) Likes the El Pavon discovery. In joint venture with Meridian (MNG-T). Meridian will spend $5 million for the option to buy 60% of the gold that's discovered. Very early stage, grass roots.

Basically it is a lender that makes short term loans at relatively high interest rates to mis-identified borrowers. Trades at 14/15 X earnings. You should see double digit growth in earnings. A superb company. Well managed.

Its future is very uncertain because they had operational problems at Jarrett Canyon. Don't have a lot of flexibility in terms of mine development. Costs have been rising squeezing out any margins. However any significant decline in the US$ will give them some breathing room.

Very strong management team. Have an interesting project in Bear Creek that they are developing. Has only seen surface sampling resu;ts as yet.

Have joint ventured a Nevada project with Placer Dome (PDG-T). Expect to see drilling this year. Very conceptual, very early stage, very risky but a very good project.

Likes the management. Have not yet made a significant discovery, but have put almost $100 million on the balance sheet in assets that the now control.

Bought purely on a management play. This is a company that has been able to do joint ventures with the majors.
