This is finished. It has a market cap of $32 billion. The problem is, it is so big that it is almost impossible to find anything that will really impact the earnings any more. It has had a long, successful run. There will be a lot of pressure on management to keep going. The catalyst has always been those big acquisitions. Now they have to be so big that they are almost impossible to find.

This is cheap. However, the issue is, is it going to get any more expensive. The balance sheet really hasn’t gone anywhere. In particular the earnings aren’t going anywhere. They haven’t done anything spectacular recently to capture people’s imaginations.

The stock has been doing quite nicely and has a nice FMV, potentially huge upside based on the earnings forecast. However, at the top, mining companies always have massive earnings and massive FMV’s. The market doesn’t pay for them. Thinks it has decent potential to about $34.

People are buying the auto stocks and auto parts makers, because they are statistically very cheap. Even on a P/B basis, they are very good. However, in the back of everybody’s mind, there is still the fear that this auto cycle hasn’t played out, and we are playing off the top. It’s too early for a major, major commitment to this.

US growth recommendations? What he observes in US growth stocks is that they are long in the cycle, and a lot of them are very, very expensive on a P/B basis. When he looks at their intrinsic value is, it is very hard for him to find anything he would be interested in. You could try Micron Technologies (MU-Q) which is a reasonably priced growth stock and has upside potential.

(A Top Pick Dec 1/16. Down 51.44%.) When he picked this, it was cheap, had a good balance sheet and was in the right area of infrastructure spending. Then energy went for another dump in the tank, and none of the infrastructure spending ever came through.
