The Financial Times reported that OpenAI’s revenues came in lower than expected, which pressured semiconductor stocks on Thursday. Nvidia<\/a> fell 3.04% and Intel<\/a> slid 5.48%. The Nasdaq sank 1.3% while the S&P fell 0.53% though the Dow was flat. Other movers: Bloom Energy<\/a> -6.76%, Chipotle<\/a> 7.2% and GoDaddy<\/a> 6.42%. The U.S. 10-year yield inched\u00a0down to 5.225% while Bitcoin<\/a> gave back nearly 2% to US$81,800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A surge in oil prices pushed the TSX higher by 0.27% or nearly 100 points. WTI jumped over 3% to US$91.10 on belligerent and at times contradictory statements by Trump towards Iran. Seven sectors rallied while healthcare and three others lost ground. Major movers on Bay Street: CNQ<\/a> 3.01%, Cenovus<\/a> 2.52%, Denison Mines<\/a> -7.92%, MDA Space<\/a>\u00a0-6.12% and Richelieu Hardware<\/a> 11.39%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
