WTI jumped nearly 3% to US$93 to lift oil stocks, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/CNQ-T\">CNQ<\/a> by 1.69%. Energy and tech outperformed in Toronto, but eight sectors lost ground, led by materials and industrials. The TSX shed 0.23%. Key names included <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/T-T\">Telus<\/a> -2.68%, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/SAP-T\">Saputo<\/a> -4.75%, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/WFG-T\">West Fraser Timber<\/a> -3.55% and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/EFX-T\">Enerflex<\/a> 11.89%. Gold inched up US$20 to US$4,178 and silver gained nearly 1% to US$60.85.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wall Street performed slightly better as the S%P rose 0.19% but the Nasdaq and Dow were basically\u00a0flat after gaining a handful of points. Major movers: <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/SNPS-Q\">Synopsys<\/a> 12.78%, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/NFLX-Q\">Netflix<\/a> -2.49%, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/ACN-N\">Accenture<\/a> 15.78% after a strong quarter, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/PSKY-Q\">Paramount Skydance<\/a> -9.58% after its Warners merger\u00a0was approved and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockchase.com\/CTVA-N\">Corteva<\/a> tumbled 83.81% after facing a fresh lawsuit.
